“As the Swahili hip hop ambassador, Nafsi Huru seeks to help others showcase their talent. Hip hop artiste Nafsi Huru. He founded the Hiphop Hookup festival, a platform that gives upcoming artistes a stage to showcase their music as well as their products. He calls himself Nafsi Huru, a free spirit. He has mastered different kinds of arts including song writing and composing poems besides rapping, which is his first love. It is a talent that he has nurtured since high school when he was a student at Highgate in Mombasa where at one time he won the best soloist title in a national competition. “Nafsi huru was born as Musa Adam on the tenth day of an October in the eightees. The Mombasa native has been passionate about art since kindergateen where he used to perform at school events. An affilliate of the hiphop groups ukoo flani and Skani Flani, based in Mombasa, which have over the years won several awards at the Nzumari and Coast awards thanks to their conscious and socially uplifting music. Nafsi huru moved to Nairobi in 2007 and recorded his first solo track titled Tunasonga (we are on the move) at the head bangaz international studio produced by Chizan Brain.In the same year, he featured in a song titled ‘DEM TREES’ on conservation in Kenya alongside Ukoo flani.
