Mountain Country ~
"It started with Monroe...deep in Kentucky Pine"
Mountain Country is an Americana band formed around the passions and songwriting of Jim "Fish" Svendsen in the fall of 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The band has grown in popularity by playing their original music as well as classic crowd favorites with a clean exciting presentation. The original tunes are never afraid to get dirty ~ with roots plowing deep into the fertile grounds of Bluegrass, Country, Folk, and other Americana genres! Playing songs from artists like Cash, Haggard, Young, Prine, Scruggs, Jackson, Stapleton, Monroe, even Petty ~ there's something for everyone in the sounds of Mountain Country. It's often music about life, hard work, and relationships! It's music played with a spirited crowd connecting performance. Comfortable ~ Danceable ~ Relaxable!
Typically performing as a driven 4 to 5 piece ensemble acoustic loving crowds will enjoy all the familiar sounds of the six string guitar, a rolling banjo, the slide of a Dobro, the chop of the mandolin, the scratch of the fiddle, and the acoustic beat of the stand-up bass in a variety of combinations. No matter the combination of instruments the Mountain Country sound and vocal harmonies tightly entertain all passer-bys with an enthusiastic presence to share their music!
