AWESOME: Mysterious, cinematic music from Enschede, Netherlands! Miyuki Day finds a nice balance between electronic and organic sounds/instruments. Her voice and lyrical flow are either meditative or subdued, which is nice because this allows each song to be driven primarily by the soundscapes. What's especially attractive about her music is this non-linear approach which gives everything more of a soundtrack/score feel. My current favorite is "Apocɑlɣpse," which are nothing short of HAUNTING. Aside from the nightmare-inducing drones, the spoken word passages are especially chilling: "We're lost / We're last / We save / We saved / We will save / We lived / We survived / We won't survive" ... GOOSEBUMPS!!!!! I've also recently fallen in love with "The unfinished cemetery." I especially LOVE the repetition of words in her lyrics ("I would like to change, change the future" / "is there a god, is god with you"). The things she's saying plus the way in which she speaks/sings those sings invokes the visual of a wanderer. Part of me wanted the song to pick up halfway through with some of her characteristic tribal drums, but the synth+piano combination by itself gives the song a very drone-like feel to it and the feeling of impending doom (and/or revelation).
