East Row Rabble and Midnight Tea Party (SYD) are teaming up to bring you a double dose of horn-inspired dancefloor action for your Friday night. Both bands are releasing new music on the night so get on down and be the first to get a taste. Midnight Tea Party - Midnight Tea Party is a 6 piece band hailing from Sydney’s Inner West. Formed in 2011 when all members of the band were studying at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music the band has since developed into a party starting machine that has appeared alongside the likes of Babylon Circus (FR), Declan Kelly and The Strides. Combining a three piece horn section, guitar, bass, drums and live electronics the group engages audiences with their high energy live shows. Featuring hypnotic balkan melodies set to electronic-style grooves, grungy metallic riffs or raucous crowd sing-a-longs the music never ceases to excite and deliver an experience both mesmerising and loaded with fun. Their self titled debut E.P. is due for release in February 2016 and was recorded by Sydney producer “Ribongia”. With their diverse sound, superb musicianship and captivating live show audiences can expect to see a band that is really starting to come into its own with a growing buzz and fan base. East Row Rabble - With members from Beth n Ben, Brass Knuckle Brass Band, Moochers Inc, and After Hollywood, Canberra super group East Row Rabble deliver a slick mix of funk, ska, blues and soul with heavenly horn lines that will get your booty shakin'. After a 6 months working arrangements, a packed out band launch and the Polish Club, and a bunch of other gigs in 2015 the final product shows the work has paid off with fans of the other bands and newcomers alike really digging the vibe. The Rabble wasted no time getting straight into the studio in the new year and are excited to present their first single "Strawberries & Cream"; the first morsel of their debut album out late 2016.

The list includes afro-beat stars The Liberators, hip-hop collective Sketch the Rhyme, The Hi-Tops Brass Band, The Morrisons, various reggae outfits including Pat Powell and The Reggae Collective, The Midnight Tea Party and Manalion, as well as The Basement Big Band, ska-punk legends The Porkers, and even the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (our percussionist has just been taken on as a Sydney Symphony fellow!). Their shows have moved from backyards for cases of beer to Sydney’s biggest venues: highlights including supporting Sticky Fingers, as well as The Selecter (UK) and late last year our biggest heroes ever, The Skatalites (Jamaica). In July they played alongside the Melbourne Ska Orchestra as part of Sydney’s VIVD Live festival, at none other than The Sydney Opera House.
