Don't miss this triple threat Americana & Roots music showcase featuring The Sam Chase, The McCoy Tyler Band & Merry Gold. ABOUT THE SAM CHASE The Sam Chase has a voice like a Nun on the lam with a mouthful cigarettes and curse words in a lonely bar, drunkenly dancing next to a broken jukebox. His songs are scribbled, not written, on lipstick and sweat stained motel bedsheets because he likes the way the ink bleeds. His guitar runs on diesel and leaks like the morning after too much Whiskey. His is a show you'll probably want to tattoo on your body so everyone will know that you knew him before he was cool. Hailing from the hills of San Francisco, California, Sam and his band whom he lovingly refers to as The Untraditional, take to stages all over the country with a virulent and frenetic passion which many history buffs might liken to the Norse warriors known as The Berserkers, who were known to have fought their battles with an uncontrollable, trance-like fury. Norse literature notes that they would work themselves into a rage before battle, consuming drugged foods, and dressed in nothing but their enemies blood. The Sam Chase and The Untraditional do maintain that spirit, but leave the drugged foods and enemies blood up to the discretion of the crowd. ABOUT THE MCCOY TYLER BAND The McCoy Tyler Band is a progressive acoustic trio based in Santa Cruz, CA. Their music fuses elements of traditional folk, bluegrass, old-school country, blues, and more. Tyler’s impactful songwriting and unique arrangements paired with the band’s high-energy live set make them one of the most intriguing up and coming bands in the Bay Area and beyond. Their second full-length album, "Time Machine" was released in 2014. ABOUT MERRY GOLD 2015 looks to be an exciting year for MerryGold. After recording their latest album “Hangtown” at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios in late 2014, the band also completed their first international tour – 23 shows in Germany. MerryGold began as the songwriting duo of Jillian Secor (guitar, vocals) and Alex Stephens (guitar, mandolin, vocals). MerryGold’s 6-piece lineup currently includes fiddle, bass, banjo, and accordion as well. Based in the small northern California town of Placerville, themes of the Gold Country are abundant in their music. Their whiskey-soaked folk/bluegrass songs take listeners back to simpler times and portray a rawness that embodies the pioneer spirit of the Wild West. While traditional folk and bluegrass elements are apparent in their music, MerryGold incorporates a wide variety of influences to create their own sound.Tickets Save

“The highlight of 2012 for MerryGold was winning the Race to TRI Studios contest. The studio - owned and operated by Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead - selected MerryGold as top-10 finalists out of over 500 entries. The public then voted MerryGold and their song “Sweet Lilly” as the winner. In December of 2012, the band recorded audio and video for 3 songs at TRI Studios (www.tristudios.com/videos).”
