Meagan Tubb & Shady People pay homage to these souls of a bygone era with a seance of classic rock, blues, soul, gospel, Americana, and funk. Crafted from the perspectives of inanimate objects of nature, creatures apart from ourselves, and most recently Meagan's journey into marriage, motherhood, and faith; each song winds a thread through stories, scripture, and life experiences to convey new revelations about the human experience to the listener. In the past 19 years the band has managed to win a battle of the bands competition, open for Willie Nelson (twice), get 2 guitar sponsorships from both Dean and Luna Guitars and their song, "Let Me Believe" won an Independent Music Award for Best Song in the Blues category. Their Feb 2011 release “Cast Your Shadow” produced by Stephen Doster received rave reviews and regular airplay and the band toured extensively through Louisiana, Switzerland, Mississippi, Colorado, Utah, Montana, Idaho, and all parts of Texas. Their song "An Argument with the Moon" was chosen for the soundtrack of the independent film "Distances" which premiered at the 2012 SXSW film festival. Their album "Signs and Wonders" released in 2021 received regular rotation on KUT's "Lone Star State of Mind" and they were a part of the Wildflower Music Festival in 2021 and the Lewisville Western Days Festival in 2023, 2024, and 2025 respectively; Meagan also performed several times at the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival and is scheduled to play there again in the fall of 2025.
