"Lost In Me" macht als Zwischenhappen Spass. Ausgezeichnet produzierte EP. Kompositorisch starkes Destillat.

"Lost In Me" zeichnet sich durch eine bodenständige Belastbarkeit und barscher Schroffheit aus. Das Songwriting erfolgt bauchgesteuert und aus einer Fan Perspektive heraus. Düsterer Heavysound zwischen Rock und Metal. Bands wie MAVORT funktionieren insbesondere live wunderbar, weil man sich direkt angesprochen fühlt und mit der Band identifiziert. Für die Zeit, bis Konzerte wieder möglich sind,ist die erweiterte Vinylpressung einguter Lückenbüsser.

“Es bleibt groovy, hier und da werden auch mal ein paar härtere Geschütze aufgefahren, aber nie verliert man die Base, den eben angesprochenen Heavy Rock. Was ich seinerzeit auch schon sagte, und bis jetzt dabei bleibe, ist diese großartige Stimmvielfalt in den Vocals, die man bei der kommenden Single "Agora", die sich tatsächlich recht schnell zu nem Favoriten entwickelt für mich entwickelt hat, sehr gut erkennen kann. Aber auch die gesamte Instrumentalfraktion macht einen extrem guten Job. Groove, Tempo, Rhythmus, alles sitzt, und vor allem, man ist so variabel, einfach hammer. Nun also acht Songs und etwa 27 Minuten Laufzeit, ganz großes Kino, damals waren es 8 Punkte, jetzt wird es etwas mehr, nur einen kleinen Tick, 10 von 10.”

“Aus der Stadt habe ich auch schon lange nichts mehr gehört. MAVORT aus Essen im Ruhrgebiet waren so freundlich, uns ein Ansichtsexemplar ihrer ersten EP "Sick Thoughts" zu schicken. Zwischen Ruhr und Emscher gelegen, im Herzen des alten Kohle- und Stahl-Mekkas, verbinden diese Stadt und mich so einige Erinnerungen. Noch heute wohnen einige Freunde dort, in der Zeche Zollverein mit ihrer Kokerei, der Zeche Karl und anderswo bin ich schon öfter ein- und ausgegangen. Die Leute in Essen haben eine ganz eigene, sympathische Mentalität, und als ich das Bandfoto von MAVORT gesehen habe, war mit sofort klar: das sind Ruhrpott-Gesichter, wie sie im Buche stehen. Dabei gibt's die Band noch gar nicht so lange. Aus ihren Nachnamen bildeten Peter Marquardt und Stefan Vortmann irgendwann im Jahr 2012 die Wortschöpfung MAVORT und machten sich auf die Suche nach Mitstreitern. Das komplette Lineup steht so seit ungefähr Ende 2013.”

“Die EP besteht aus den Songs BLUE SKY, I'LL GO MY WAY, SICK THOUGHTS und THESE DAYZ, und bietet kurzweilige, sauber produzierte 16 Minuten. Die Songs im Einzelnen sind abwechslungsreich, variieren im Tempo, passen aber als Gesamtbild perfekt zusammen. Ich persönlich kann die Band, respektive die Scheibe nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Ziemlich schnörkellos und ohne ausufernde technische Spielereien zimmert die Truppe vier Songs zusammen, die schon im Einzelnen so unterschiedlich ausfallen, dass nur das grobe Label "Rock/Metal" der ersten MAVORT-EP "Sick Thoughts" gerecht wird. Zur Einzelbetrachtung: Der Opener 'Blue Sky' kommt mit einem gefällig schleppenden Groove daher und mischt Doom-Schwere mit PANTERA-Riffs und einer lässigen Stoner-Atmosphäre. Besonders amtlich fällt die Peformance von Sänger Dirk Proksch aus: Der Herr am Mikrofon variiert gekonnt zwischen näselndem Klargesang und bissigen Wutschreien. 'Blue Sky' ist tief, erdig, ehrlich, einfach männlich. Abgesehen davon dass sich das Thema des Songs gegen Ende et”
