Please stay in tune becuz Mary is currently working on some new songs. Mary loves the pure experience of music which involves traversing across many octaves of the piano. Her love and passion for acoustical guitar playing and classical/flamenco guitar work have helped to create the overall musical experience. Her favorite thing of all is to sing from her guts and from the heartaches and experiences of life. Having grown up with the inspiration that comes from some of the best: Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Johnny Cash, Arethra Franklin, Judee Sill, and Joni Mitchell this artist carves her own sense of poetry into the bedrock of music that can be lovingly found on ReverbNation, YouTube, and the Library of Congress. Born in Santa Monica, California and living for some years a few hours outside of Nashville, Mary has an experienced background in playing live for various venues to include: coffee houses, small pubs, a music festival in West Virginia, weddings, churches, and small group gatherings. The live music is Mary's favorite because it is a wonderful way to relate to her audience. And, when the Homo Sapians have evolved into a vast millenium from now, some sensitive listeners will still be able to enjoy Mary Green and the many others who help to enrich our lives. Once in a while, Mary invites others with the magical techniques and abilities that playing instruments entail. Why should we not call this the Twilight Zone of musical genius that many of us songwriters often experience? With a Master of Science degree in Educational Media, Mary's other interests have involved storytelling in the form of songs. Throughout the years, this artist has written over 200 songs. Songs are registered in the Library of Congress. Mary wishes to thank her family for some of her musical inspiration and success. Mary's mother was a ball room and tap dance teacher and loved the world of dance and music. Her father was a sketch artist and traveled the world one of those places being the deserts of Africa and loved music. Her sister is a very talented water color artist and clothing designer. Her brother loved playing the classical guitar and enjoys all the very unique experiences of life.
