About the Artist

Marv has been a mainstay for many years in the regional music scenes from Philly to Baltimore Metro to DC Metro/NoVA to the Atlantic resorts to Richmond, VA (and occasionally The Grand Strand/Myrtle Beach, SC and/or Sumter/Stateburg, SC). He is bassist/vocalist with Drifter's Escape, Shorebreak, The Retro Kings, THE Billy Starwood Band occasionally, KING LEWMAN (bassist/backup vocalist) occasionally, and UXO. He is a bass collaborator with the original music songwriting duo known as Rogue & Vagabond. He has been a lead singer in groups like The Decades, a Motown/R&B 10 piece band, and The Deacons, an originals, blues, rockabilly, alternative roots group. He has been the bassist and one of the lead singers in bands like Scrimshaw, Head Over Heels, 2BitRevue, Fabulous Sluggos, Graffiti, Tommy Roberts & The Tristeros, Blues You Can Use, Gamler's Ramblers (aka The River Band), Denim n' Lace, Strait Shooter, When Thunder Comes, Kallok & Steele Group, Smokin' Otis Blues Band , In a Bad Way, Boyler Makers, Old Crippled & Crazy, Mo' Love, THE Wharf Rats, LIVE, Soul Shine, Chris Presley Band, Mike Owens Band, SMALL TOWN COWBOY. BIG RIVER, JJ FLASH. He performs individually at various coffeehouses and fundraisers and is a standby bassist for various groups. When not appearing with his groups, he can be found onstage at jams, open mics, coffeehouses, and invitationals. To keep his chops up, to retain his edge, and to remain nimble, he is an Organizer and an active member of the Baltimore Guitarist Group, a community of musicians who hold open mics, perpetrate jams, and raise funds for Little Kids Rock to help promote music education. He is also a member of Acoustic Guitar & Musicians Group, Baltimore Live Music Meetup Group, Home Recorders & Mixers, and Delmarva Deadheads! He has been a booking agent, manager, promoter and producer for groups like Tregwater, The Illuminati, Richard Taylor & The Ravers, Silent Partner, Fate, and, of course, bands for whom he plays through the auspices of his company, LGM Enterprises and its subsidiary, Thuh SwitchingYard, an arts, events and media consortium.
