Hearing Marty for the first time was like listening to an old song I forgot I knew and loved! Smart, fun originals mixed with personal, urgent takes on covers weaved seamlessly through the show like a secret dialogue you're just hip enough to understand.

Fun to check in on your tunes now & again, Marty. Ain't it a joy to know that He's put a His song in our hearts that can touch others? My fave so far- Believe in Love. Haunting lyric. I know the song is done, but as a fellow tunesmith, wondering what a minor key & slower pace might do to convey the pathos. Just musing. Rock on, bro. Love to see you again someday.

Bio: With a serious nod to the 60’s folk/rock revolution and an eclectic conspiracy between acoustic and electric guitars encouraged by coltish pots-and-pans of percussion, the Marty Miles Band is simultaneously divergent and classic. Guided by the smooth vocals and lyric songwriting of front man, Ma...See Full Bio

Q: Is it true that your mother was the inspiration for Rudolph's girlfriend's name in the Romeo Muller classic "Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer"?

A: When my dad, John Miles, was in the Army he was stationed in Alexandria, VA outside of Washington D.C. His best friend, an Army buddy by the name of Ken Donnelly of NYC, was also a song & comedy partner of his. After Dad and my mom, Clarice, were married they went to NYC to visit Ken. Ken's artistic cohort, Romeo Muller, was on hand as well. A number of years later, when Romeo was writing Rudolph, he shared some of his ideas with Ken. In discussing ideas for a name for Rudolph's girlfriend, my mom came up, because Romeo always liked her name. So Rudolph's girlfriend became 'Clarice'. The rest is history and also receives mention in the book, THE MAKING OF RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. available at http://www.amazon.com/Rudolph-The-Red-Nosed-Reindeer-Holiday/dp/0971308101 One final note of trivia: Ken Donnelly was also my Godfather.
