Martha was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in the 80s and was raised on a diet of The Eagles, The Traveling Wilburys and Bruce Springsteen. This progressed into a love for female artists like Sheryl Crow, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, The Dixie Chicks and Bonnie Raitt in her teenage years.
Her debut album, Better Days, was recorded in Nashville by David Spicher and featured some of Music City's most enviable musicians. The album gained extensive play in the UK, Ireland and across the pond in America and Canada.
Eager to replicate the sound of Sun Studio in Memphis, where she recorded on a whim in 2013, Martha has recently finished a live EP in her hometown of Glasgow.
Recorded by Johnnie Smillie, the EP is a mix of new original tracks and classic country covers.
The EP will be released in late August 2016.
