Mario Panacci - Independent Singer/Songwriter and Music Advocate:
Firstly, none of these songs are AI generated. I have nothing against people using AI but art evolving helping humans evolve must flow from open, loving human IQ + EQ + CQ hearts rather than logic driven LLM's. A working class creative born in 1959 between hippie and late 70's punk trends. Both waves define my core songwriting evolution. An entrepreneurial generation jones teen with paper routes and garage bands I slowly evolved towards composing honest, loving and dignified songs reflecting how we open, loving hearts feel living in this world. btw none of my family on both sides were into songwriting. I come from a creative family but while they all loved music none of them composed songs. I had the freedom to create songs without expectations from loved ones - what a gift! By the early 80's the girl in 68 Pontiac and I were married evolving past Italian, German & UK cultures towards an open global human first future. We believe being loving humans towards everyone and everything is where happiness lives in us all. Our College education led to innovative corporations where we traded creative talent and hard work for pay providing us and our family a safe, loving community. In our mid 30's we evolved to starting and growing our own companies. As Copreneurs we slowly evolved forming Kelly Panacci Inc.in 2003 to focus on creating "art designed to inspire™" (others). Our art brand and thousands of co-branded craft products partnered with top brands excited global creatives providing us with profits to fund other creative companies like Hoodwink Records Inc. making brave indie DIY evolutionary music from 1995 to 2008. Lovers of architecture and community we slowly renovated our 1920's home designed by a female architect. We spent 27 years restoring the home to "her" vision. In 2015 we downsized reducing our carbon burn and spending more time with our adult children and six grand children as creative elders. I take my songwriting very seriously. From experiences as a label owner I grew to reject the music industry focus on packaging songwriters for profit. The master level songs here are team created with highly talented professional music making friends. Collectively we've come together to make and share these songs and any profits are shared evenly. Some songs took decades to move from my raw expressive "demos" to released masters. As you scroll down our songs you'll experience the "songwriting process" evolving from raw drafts to commercial grade masters. I've had many songwriter friends adapt into my songs releasing them on solo albums. Some credit me and some don't which is fine because some songwriters are driven by control and domination and some like us by teamwork and sharing results. The commercial music industry partners with control and domination focused songwriters sharing their values. For them its about ego, fame and power. These "me" songwriting collectives hire session players for recording/touring keeping profits to themselves because profits bring them power over everything and everyone. This is why I moved away from the "commercial music" domain. I came to find we just don't share the same core values for creating songs. These control types expect us to buy into the delusion that they as a small team made/funded/developed/marketed/distributed the "hit" songs they own generating millions of streams and filling large venues. A google search shows these yesteryear songwriters selling their hit song rights to global music corporations for millions of dollars keeping those profits mostly to themselves. Sadly many of our past songwriter mentors have sold songs to hubris corporations for more money and power hoping we'd be okay with it all. Songs they wrote as outsiders expressing the hardships we common folks experience living in a society controlled by the hubris elites now profit more every time we stream those songs. There is something very wrong when songwriters become hubris. I didn't sell out. I found ways to earn a living and use some of that money and time to make and share songs here. The talented friends in these songs helped because they resonated with the songs. As leader of these songs I've walked away from music making friends turned hubris because we don't share the same core values as creatives. The comments we receive from songwriters sharing our core values warms our hearts motivating us to evolve our songs as we evolve.
I do not collect streaming royalty on reverbnation happy gifting our streaming pennies to the folks keeping this platform going. My commercial music industry friends put down our "indie DIY" platform because they're only motivated by profits and power. We love blending these songs into indie DIY film or TV projects as they ask but I tend to turn down most offers because the partners don't share our core values.
Throughout history "we" brave indie evolutionary artists have emotionally reflected our past in present imagining a better future for everyone and everything. Our evolutionary art (in all human formats) helps us evolve to a better future. I'm proud of these collectively created evolutionary songs and the friends in them. We share them in the spirit of sharing art that reunites us.
Under the "lyric" tag I offer evolving personal perspectives, reflections and connections. As we evolve songs that evolve with us invite us towards better. Evolving songs can't change the world for better but they can "invite" us to do so. The songwriter mentors I love create emotional invitations we can use. Its the complex emotional dynamic interplay between all evolutionary art and how we humans resonate or reject it that drives my love of songwriting. For us open, loving hearts this is our "why" for songwriting - this is where the "art" of songwriting evolves with us. Thanks for reading about us and why we make and share songs - happy creative days ahead all : )
