In March, we finished recording our fourth album at Golden Hive studios Prague with the assistance of sound engineer Amak Golden. The first single, Četba u splavu, was on the Czech 12 chart on Czech Radio Two from February to March 2026.
Third album went to worldwide digital distribution through Czech label Supraphon.
Titel name KARLSBAD is used, because frame of the album is made by two songs- Karlsbad and Karlsbad II. This is hommage for Czech spa Karlovy Vary- in a German Karlsbad. I had spent there my childhood and I am influenced during communist times there, when town was more gray, and full of rests after Germans, whos must left this town after II.WW.
Album is still clasical singer/songwriting album but more influenced by jazz- rock guitar of Jáchym Štětka and post- rock bass of Vratislav Hubička.

Marek Dusil Blend, the band around songwriter Marek Dusil released their debut album in the year 2010. On the album was summarized 5 years of the band existence. Unfortunately, because of health problems of the guitar player Bany this quartet is not playing anymore. That is the reason why Marek Dusil decided to record the next songs in acoustic form. In between he found another musicians. The band plays in this combination now: Jachym Stetka- Guitars Vratislav Hubicka- double bass Marcel Jakubovie- cajon and percussions.
The album was finished at 2014. The name is Ocean and, except the named musicians, there are a few guests introducing themself as well. Petr Tichy- double bass, David Babka- steel guitar, Stepan Smetacek as a drummer and a producer as well. All of them are wanted musicians on the jazz and acoustic scene. The graphic design of the album is made by Sarah Jarrett from UK, holder of the MPA award Photographer/ artist of the year 2012. You will find 11 songs on the album, 4 are in English and the rest in the mother tongue- Czech. Most of the lyrics are written by Marek Dusil, but you can also find two musical settings of poems from famous Czech poets Karel Hynek Macha (1810-1836) and Frantisek Halas ( 1901-1949). In the music setting of the second poem you can also hear the sister and mother of Marek Dusil- Lenka and Irena Dusilova. It is a song from the time of their family folk band (1988-1991). Lenka Dusilova is important Czech songwriter, holder of lots of Andel awards ( similar to Grammy, just Czech) and succesful musician, who is making music continuously since she was 11 years old. She was working with famous characters on the Czech music scene, she has 4 solo albums and one project Eternal Seekers together with the representatives of classical music, ensemble Clarinet factory.
We have been chosen from submitted Reverbnation artists for review by Californian music mag The Alternate root, and review was writen in a May.
A few weeks ago was OCEAN chosen for Album of the week in World folk show at UK radio station Marlow FM 97,5. On the UK radio the Bridge is will appear in a New traditions show and on Celtic music radio at Folkal point show. Another broadcast have been, whatt We know in Reading folk show and in some Sweden independent radios. Last time have been airplayed on Felixtowe radio and in Acoustic routes on DrapperFM and Blues and Roots radio.. Now what is newest, is a music video for song Incommunication and preparing for a new album
In the end of 2014 was our album signed by Czech music žurnalist Michal Bystrov between 5 best Czech album sof 2014.
Booklet of Ocean album is done thanks to support of british artist Sarah Jarrett who´s put her art Picture for our CD, and is really briliant We think.
We are full band 4 members, but often I have to do solo gigs, or in duo with my guitarist. Of course, full band is more coloured, and more energicall.
In April 2017, the Prague-based indie-acoustic band MAREK DUSIL BLEND released an EP titled Raw, targeting the English-speaking market. The Band’s previous album, Ocean, had a positive response in the UK, where it was featured in a dozen folk music shows. In 2014, i.e. six months after its release, Ocean became the album of the week on Marlow FM’s World Folk Show.
Album Karlsbad- third, is released on september 7., 2018. Airplayed in UK from november in many folk and acoustic shows, get a review in RGM magazine and We are curious, if will be have succes by listeners
