However, this is the first one she's played for which she is the beneficiary. After months of stomach problems, a cancerous tumor was discovered on the inside wall of her stomach. In January, surgeons at the Cleveland Clinic removed three-quarters of her stomach and rerouted her digestive system. The good news is the cancer hadn't spread to her liver, her pancreas or the 23 lymph nodes that doctors checked. She is cancer free and has quit smoking after a 40-year habit. When I heard her sing a song from Linda Ronstadt, I melted and literally stopped a light conversation so I could hear and feel every word.
