“Only a few, including Ken Miziki, did the curtain-raising for the concert, which was attended by, among others, celebrated gospel artistes Julie Mutesasira, Coopy Bly, Holy Keane Amooti, Mac Elvis and Wilson Bugembe aka Wil B, according to the night’s emcee. ”

“Katalina ably represented the ladies and she was joined by Coopy Bly to perform Nyweza. There was also a performance by Chrystal Fabulous, Morgan Isaac, Sami Kay, Holy Keane and Mac Elvis before the man of the night, Levixone, backed by a live band and a six-man back-up team, came on dressed in white.”

“And as always, the group had curtain raisers like Kushe, Mac Elvis, Xabu, Antonio, Sami-k and Bedford set the mood. The Xabu group comprising of three girls Brenda, Tonya and Sandra, gave their best when they performed love songs. They wowed the audience with pretty voices that evoked memories of the fading gospel group, Makoma.”

“ Word has it that Mac Elvis hinted that he will be releasing a free project this year after his late last year release of the MOC.COM (Mind On Christ, Christ On My Mind) song featuring Coopy Bly. This artiste has revolved in the way he does his music production wise, lyric wise and that project would be something we all would love to get a hold of.”

“The concert will celebrate artistes solo and groups like Calvary cross choir, Limit X, Fiona Mukasa, Ken Serukenya, Black Sisters, Wilson Bugembe, Maurice Kirya, Coopy Bly, Mac Elvis, Tamba, Myko Ouma and Exodus. It should be amazing especially knowing how much attention they pay to sound and lighting at least from the previous events. And since they have been warning that they will not to do this again, it should be a must attend.”

“However, the crowd was furious with Fenon Events that did not hastily respond to the power cut and wasted stage time. Musicians such as Exodus (Igwe), Coopy Bly, Morgan Isaac, Mac Elvis and a few others that the crowd had geared up for, could not perform.”

“PhatFest, East Africa’s most celebrated gospel concert organised by Power FM, is back. Happening at Kyadondo rugby grounds on December 14, the music fete is to be graced by more than 15 Ugandan artistes such as Wilson Bugembe, Maurice Kirya, Coopy Bly, Mac Elvis, Tamba, Myko Ouma and Exodus. Daddy Owen and Kris EhBaba from Kenya will also grace the concert.”

“It's like impossible to choose a favorite song from this album! I keep saying.....ooooh...I love this one with each new song that comes on! Haahaaaa!!!”

“When I bumped into Mac Elvis at Emerald hotel during the gospel night, he looked different. He was not the charming, ever-smiling gospel singer I knew. His smile was gone and all that was left was some small dude hiding under a cap. He proposed we move to a less noisy place for a chat. In the light, he looked like he had lost so many kilos since we last met at Gospel Unplugged. Then he flashed his trademark smile and I saw the ‘bling’ on his teeth. These were not the popular grills worn by hip hop artistes and fans. This was a rare kind of bling holding his jaws together. Mac was talking through his teeth. The only space there is for him to fit a drinking straw. As he sips his Fanta, he tells me his ordeal. The Fanta, water, milk and yoghurt is all he has been able to survive on for six weeks.”

“it was one of the best moments in my life..i almost loost my mind..all those artists performing in one nyt...hmmm...there's no place i wd hv ben other than gospel nyt..to all who made it happen God blesss u big tym..keep up the good work .”

“The event had started earlier in the day at 10am, with the Sulphuric Deejays: Kaicy, Peruz and Stef alongside DJ Twonjex, playing back-to-back gospel jams and a couple of dance performances. Then one after another, the cream of Ugandan gospel artistes stepped up with energetic performances. Artistes such as: Exodus, Coopy Bly, Mac Elvis, Holy Keane Amooti, and Pastor Wilson Bugembe. Ronald Muro, Kingsley and Philla, Morgan Heritage and S4J also put on wonderful performances. Isaac Rucci, who took us back to his Limit X days, wowed the audience as his daughter showed off killer dance moves. Also present was Maurice Kirya, who performed a remix of Don’t wanna Fight from The Book of Kirya album, alongside Enygma. The main act by Dafari Daf started a little after 11pm and he was worth the wait for the patient crowd. He performed songs like Yet to Come, Faithful, Monday Till Sunday, among others.”

“It was a great day for the teenagers to renew their commitment to God. With entertainment from DJ Twonjex, MarkB (a Joy Centre favorite), Coopy BLY and Mac Elvis, the teens danced and worshiped their real leader, God. The school’s service also saw the return of our favorite worship leader, the prophetically named Talent, who with Ruth and Baroness (another prophetic name ;-) ) led a great session of praise and worship. Joy Centre partners, Robert and Jova Ndyabarema, joined the service to support the work at the center. Together with their children Rachel and Joel, they were a great encouragement to Joyie, Ben and the entire Joy Centre team. We’d like to thank the following schools for participating in the service: City Secondary School Kasengejje Secondary School Galaxy High School St. John’s Secondary School St. Michael’s International School Please join the Joy Centre in praying for peace as S4 and S6 students prepare for their final exams. ”

“This is a very emotional topic for the soft-spoken lad. He breaks down when telling the story of growing up without both parents and the untimely death of his elder brother Ivan. The challenges of life have made him the star he is today and he has no regrets. “If I were to change anything about my life, I wouldn’t change a thing. Everything I experienced in the past has contributed to who I am today. It’s been God’s grace, love and care that have carried me through. The love of God and life’s situations inspire me,” he told The Observer. This is reflected in his passionate lyrics about how far God has brought him. After years of dreaming and hard work with his mentor, he was able to record and release his first album Yo Love in 2009. With the album, he embarked on a high school tour to promote it and spread the gospel to the youth.”

“Though most of the artistes were new, fans of the already established Gospel musicians had something to enjoy as artistes like Exodus-Ganja Man, G-Way, Sammy-K and Daddy Skills performed. Among the upcoming artistes were the famous Jntyle and Mac Elvis. ”
