Lumina Vocal Ensemble is an Australian acapella ensemble discovering and performing classical music that is rarely heard. Medieval gems and masterpieces of the Renaissance are our staple fair but Lumina has also carved out a niche nurturing Australian composers, performing dozens of world premieres. We mostly sing acapella, but are joined by various instrumentalists from time to time.
Lumina’s motto is ‘singing outside the square’. Through performing live in Adelaide and publishing recordings online, we share wonderful music with the world, seeking out moments of magic, challenging listeners with new ideas, and giving both old and new composers a new voice.
