Quinton Alexander McLeroy, professionally known as Alexander Starr, is a multi-talented recording artist, producer, and performer hailing from Atlanta, Georgia—the birthplace of Southern hip hop. With deep roots in Atlanta’s rich musical legacy, Starr built his name not only as a commanding presence in the booth, but also as a skilled ghostwriter, engineer, and mentor behind the scenes.
He first came onto the scene as a member of Pimp Mobb (now known as Southern Legacy), a group affiliated with Big Bank Records in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Starr would go on to sign a development deal as a solo artist under a sub-label of the iconic LaFace Records, establishing himself as an artist to watch.
An early mastery of mixing and mastering helped Starr develop a signature sound—blending raw emotion with polished, cinematic production. Over the years, he’s lent his creative vision to emerging talents such as Kwony Cash, Young Thug (YSL), Cheat (Red Kartel), Wylout (BookBag ENT), and Teigo Bay, guiding a new generation of Southern artists through mentorship and collaboration.
His recording career began with mixtape features alongside his labelmates at Hellboi 5Star Studios (now rebranded as H5 Live Music Group LLC). Early appearances include Street Made FAM’s A Product Of My Environment (2009), Baz100Wattz’s Remedial Class (2011), LoSkyWalker’s Cocaine Nightmares: Million Dollar Dreams (2011), and Bruh James’s From Standing On Da Block (2012).
Starr’s solo catalog includes the fan-favorite Street Madjic Vol. 1 & 2, featuring hits like “Ball Hard” (feat. Teigo Bay), “Ball Hard Rx” (feat. Bruh James & Wylout), “Gwalla” (feat. Street Made FAM), “Cut Tha Check” (feat. Tha General), “My Love” (feat. J.Loyal), and “I Got It (Creek City)” (feat. Bruh James), among others.
In 2021, Starr responded to rising racial injustice and police brutality with a powerful message: “AMERICA”, produced with Stro Maxwell—a raw, emotional anthem that cut through the noise and demanded attention. He followed this with the inspirational “Story of Your Life” (with Tuwanna Marie) and the dark, conceptual project KARMA CITY: Illuminati Calls – Lucifer Version, a three-song LP with longtime collaborator Bruh James.
Currently, Starr is gearing up to release his most personal and conceptual studio album to date: Karma City: A Poole Creek Testimony. The lead single, “Karma City Nights” (feat. Stro Maxwell), and follow-ups like “Too Much” (with RoyelYorel) and the introspective “5:22 Book Of Karma” (a tribute flip of YFN Lucci’s “7.62”) show his lyrical growth and emotional depth. His newly remastered track “Moe Money” and Tha 5Spot: Futures Past project keep his momentum strong.
In 2023, Starr and his son Juiceman3x were preparing their joint album StarJuice, after the breakout success of “Paper Dreams Remix.” The project was put on hold following Juiceman3x’s legal issues in South Carolina, but Starr honored the story through his deeply personal release Karma Politic’n 101, featuring standout tracks like “INNOCENT,” “Through It,” and “Story of Your Life.”
