Arts Council of Baton Rouge Presents: Jazz Listening Room with The Bad Plus
Top 2 on the CMT series ‘Big in a Small Town’, Quentin Reddy is a rising star in Canadian country music. He isn’t just a singer and songwriter; he’s also a passionate entertainer. Quentin has a real and raw approach to modern country that captures the emotions of the listener. On stage, he brings the room alive with the connection he shares with the audience. Quentin’s original works have an East coast influence that pushes the boundaries of new country rock. Growing up in Newfoundland, Quentin taught himself to play the guitar at a very young age. To stand out in a family of musicians, he began writing, and soon was pouring his soul into his songs. His passion is rooted in his individuality – and each night he plays, he strives to improve as a performer. Now based in Alberta, his music has earned him nominations for Male Vocalist and Fan’s Choice at both the 2012 and 2013 ACMAs. Entertaining audiences across the west for the past several years, Quentin continues to bring his music to new and long-standing fans alike. He has performed at the Calgary Stampede, in Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Whitecourt and Cold Lake, as well as many rodeos across Alberta. He recently opened for Dallas Smith and Chad Brownlee on the Boys of Fall Tour. Quentin has also opened for Tara Oram, Dean Brody, Julian Austin and April Wine. He truly has a giving spirit, regularly donating his time and talents for many relief and charitable efforts, including this summer for the southern Alberta flooding victims. He also performed at the Concert of Hope in Slave Lake, where he shared the bill with musicians such as Charlie Major, Dwight Yoakam, Ashley MacIsaac, Stampeders and Nazareth. Continually immersing himself in his songwriting, Quentin has successfully co-written with Canadian artists and has written in Nashville. His first singles, ‘Rest for My Body’ and ‘Beautiful Crazy Life’ both spent 15 weeks on the Canadian country music charts. Recorded at Revolution Recording in Toronto, Beautiful Crazy Life, features roots act The Heartbroken and was produced by Josh Finlayson. Quentin’s latest single ‘Closer’ hit Canadian Country Radio on October 15. Produced by Bart Mackay, the single is a catchy number sure to get stuck in your head. A beautiful yet simple video visually captures the organic magnetism between two people falling for each other. Shot and directed by award-winning Courtenay Forster of C4 Films, the video will follow on CMT Canada. Quentin is thrilled to have signed with 306 Records for the release of his debut album. The full length album is set for release in spring 2014 on 306 Records and recorded with Canadian award-winning producer Bart McKay. Climb on board and join Quentin Reddy for the ride!
