At a recent show, Lenny’s Basement was told: “Every single song is totally danceable!” And: “You have a great variety, and don’t play the same old songs that everybody else does!”
Which was the general consensus of a game plan when Lenny’s Basement was formed in late 2010. A group of talented and experienced musicians from a wide range of stylistic choices, Lenny’s Basement started rehearsing in lead guitarist Lenny Ruckel’s living room (the basement was too damp that winter), but what started as a joke for a name, stuck. With four lead vocalists and plenty of harmony, the group started selectively choosing great uptempo rock n’ roll for a batch of “totally danceable” tunes. They get rave responses everywhere they play, from Michael’s on Main in Soquel, The Crow's Nest in Santa Cruz, Severino’s in Aptos, The Wharf House in Capitola, Jerry's Front Pocket in Santa Cruz, The Bayview Hotel in Aptos to The Trout Farm Inn in Felton, Henfling’s in Ben Lomond Joe’s Bar in Boulder Creek, and all points in between and beyond!
