Southern roots run deep in Lee Gibson’s veins and you feel that the minute he takes the stage. Being raised in the small town of Winchester, Tennessee helped form his love for country music and the country way of life. He grew up glued to the radio absorbing such greats as Charlie Daniels, Merle Haggard and George Jones. Lee carries some of the songs from his country icons on stage as well as his songs which tell the story of lost loves, hardships, falling in love and there are always the good drinking songs that have made history in country music. He can’t be pigeon-holed as his sound ranges from outlaw on the moonshine-laden “Lincoln County Lightning” to the more blue-eyed soul crooner on his “Long Slow Night”, to Americana on his tribute to small towns everywhere with “Still There. All of these songs telling stories to which his audience can relate.
Famed guitar string maker Dean Markley once compared Gibson to the perfect mix of Dwight Yoakam and Alan Jackson. Lee Gibson’s voice is powerful, clear and damn country. With his influence, from these artists and so many more, Gibson is continues pursuing writing with some of the top Nashville songwriters. His first record deal helped put him on stage with the likes of Randy Houser, Anthony Smith, Darryl Worley, T. Graham Brown, and even the late George Jones.
As Lee Gibson steps on stage he does so with the experience he has gained over the years of working with numerous legends before him. His 6 foot 4 inch stature carries the deep richness in his voice as he sings to his audiences. His songs tell stories about who he is, love found, love lost, and a few spilled drinks. This is real. This is Country. This is Lee Gibson.
