Late November is a roots band seeking to revive organic and soulful music through Jazz, Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Rock n Roll, Soul, and Funk. Influences range from early folk Blues musicians like Blind "Lemon" Jefferson, Charley Patton and Robert Johnson, New Orleans jazz acts like Jelly Roll Morton and Kid Ory, classical blues artists like Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith, Rhythm and Blues and Rock n Roll artists like Ivory Joe Hunter, Wynonie Harris, Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew, early blues and soul artists like Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Alan Toussaint, Otis Redding, and Booker T & the MG's, the Motown sound, to more contemporary soul artists like Isaac Hayes, tracking the history and development of roots music into the funk of James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, George Clinton, Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, and Marvin Gaye (these influences also range over the English mods and English soul artists like Steve Marriott).
