Ladies of Longford
Celebrating 18 years of their special brand of Celtic music, the Ladies of Longford serve up a unique blend of both traditional and contemporary styles. This all woman band never ceases to excite and amaze it's audiences with high energy and beautiful harmonies. The Ladies perform Irish music along with various other acoustic styles. If you are attending the Dublin Irish Festival or any of the many Irish pubs in the Ohio region you are bound to come across these Ladies. You can also catch them at a number of national festivals throughout the country. You can count on the Ladies of Longford bringing Celtic music to your soul. The group consists of Hilda Doyle, her two daughters, Stephanie Doyle Gamber and Heather Doyle Fraser, as well as Elizabeth Blickenstaff. Why are they called the “Ladies of Longford”? The Doyle family name, passed down to Stephanie and Heather from their father Francis Doyle, originated from County Longford, Ireland. So the name seemed very fitting. The group not only promotes itself as a whole, but also individually. Hilda still performs as a single act on occasion. Elizabeth also plays in the band Lone Raven. Heather has been a featured soloist with several local bands and Stephanie also appears with regional favorite The Rice Brothers. All these Ladies have a rich musical history both “on stage” and as recording artists.
