“A talented young singer born of Gambian parents based in the United States America is set to make an inspirational visit to her country of origin, The Gambia. Khadija Mbowe, 19, who goes by the unfussy popular musical name Khadija will launch her debut album dubbed LookBook. The debut album release party slated for Friday Dec.16 at Paradise Suites Hotel is going to be one of a kind, said Muhammed alias Moeblac, the manager for Khadija. “It took about a year to get all the recording, mixing and mastering completed for this project not to mention all the photo shoot and designing of the promo materials and getting sponsors,” he told The DAILY NEWS entertainment”

“Khadija Mbowe, a Gambian based in Canada is about to release her first studio album 'Look Book' next Friday at Paradise Suites Hotel. According to the artist, 'Look Book' is “a kind of introduction” to her life. The nine-song album include numbers like Fussing and Fighting, Clap on, Sumalaguisul (featuring Jalimadi). Khadija Mbowe was born in the United States but re-located to Canada with her family at age 14. Khadija effortlessly blends English and her native Wolof to create a sweet sound that can be appreciated worldwide. “I was not inspired by any one to do music because I want to inspire others,” Khadija told The Standard. “My music is a mixture of hip-hop, R&B, pop and mbalax. However, my genre of music falls under Afro Beat and African music, but really I am still experimenting with different styles and sounds. I am open to any good music,” she explained.”

Speaking in an interview with Entertainment on Thursday at the point Newsroom, Khadija Mbowe said she is working on her album adding that she has worked some of the tracks. This is my first album and the album will have 12-tracks. The young female musician explained that she would continue to play music when she gets the instruments. Gambia is my first country to promote my music, she added. Khdija Mbowe came in the country since September this year and has been busy promoting her music at the studios. The young American musician is expected to be on stage at Duplex Night Club where she is expected to treat-party people on Sunday night. Khadija Mbowe will also be performing together with The Gambian famous musician Freaky Joe on Monday at the Paradise FM. ”
