About the Artist

Kevin Danzig has spent a lifetime following songs wherever they lead. Raised in a musical family in Southern California and now based in the mountains of Colorado, he has built a career as a traveling singer-songwriter whose music reflects the people, places, and moments gathered along the way. Blending contemporary folk, Americana, and acoustic rock, Danzig’s songs are rooted in vivid storytelling, memorable melodies, and an unmistakable sense of humanity. Whether accompanied by acoustic guitar, ukulele, harmonica, or his signature Porchboard bass drum, his performances are intimate, engaging, and deeply personal. As OffBEAT Magazine observed, “Danzig has a knack for crafting memorable, tuneful compositions that stretch across a gamut of emotions.” The Kansas Historic Route 66 Association recently voted unanimously to adopt Kevin’s song “Route 66 (I Didn’t Know This Road Went Through Kansas)”as its official song! Over more than three decades, Danzig has released ten studio albums of original music while performing everywhere from listening rooms, folk festivals, and concert halls to house concerts and community venues throughout North America. His songs have earned national radio airplay across Americana, folk, and AAA formats, received five Billboard songwriting awards, and have been featured on NPR’s Car Talk, in film soundtracks, and by other recording artists. Beyond his solo career, Kevin has continued to expand his musical vision through several original music projects. He currently leads the Colorado-based band Gandy Dancers, bringing his songwriting to life with a full-band sound that blends energy, texture, and storytelling. His previous projects, including Buzz Drivers, Danzig & Woolley and The Danzig Band, further showcase his range as a songwriter, arranger, and performer, with each project reflecting a different chapter of his creative journey. His most recent album, The Holland Café, reflects his love of storytelling in its purest form. Built around the fictional character of Sara, a painter whose artwork becomes the visual companion to each song, the album explores the intersection of music, memory, and imagination. Inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell, Danzig strives to paint pictures with songs that invite listeners into fully realized worlds. Alongside his recording career, Kevin has remained committed to using music in service of community, donating performances to organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish, HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley, and numerous local charitable causes throughout Colorado. Throughout his career, he has shared stages with artists including America, Dar Williams, Ellis Paul, Martin Sexton, Mary Gauthier, John Hammond, Shawn Mullins, Leon Russell, David Wilcox, Leo Kottke, and many others. He is also a returning performer at the Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival, where he has been invited to perform multiple times. Whether performing for a concert audience or around a campfire after the show, Kevin Danzig believes the best songs create connection. His work is guided by curiosity, compassion, and the enduring idea that every life contains stories worth telling.
