Singer, songwriter, actor, producer and social media influencer, Julie has been working professionally in entertainment since the age of ten. Trained in dance, music and the arts, she has built a versatile career spanning music, film and live performance.
At eighteen she wrote and produced the anthem Turn this world around, featured in The Hive Mind Movie on YouTube. After hundreds of auditions and performances across Europe and the UK, including as a Red Coat at Butlins and a Madonna impersonator, she secured a record deal at twenty nine with Insane Records under CEO Arty Mogul, manager of Bob Dylan. She travelled to Hollywood with manager Stuart Collins to record promo videos for her first release, receiving permission to cover The Beatles’ Something by Sir George Harrison. The track was re arranged by Wesley Magoogan, saxophonist for The Beat and collaborator with Billy Ocean, Paul Young and Hazel O Connor.
Julie’s subsequent releases include the cheeky pop track Talk dirty and Sure, the theme tune for the Special Olympics 2003.
Her media, sales and marketing experience spans BBC, ITV, SKY, Channel 4, Time Warner, Disney, the Wachowski brothers, New Line and EMI.
She has worked in numerous films including The Hitchhikers Guide, Wimbledon, The Changeover and A Wrinkle in Time, along with featured roles in three 4G EE adverts with Kevin Bacon. She played the lead in The Heather Brothers’ gritty film Bullets Buzz and Mr Fish, and most recently starred as a supporting actress in the Singaporean New Zealand production Korban 2 available on YouTube.
She is also a supporting actress in On the Edge of Hope, which has won awards including best costume and best ensemble.
Now based in New Zealand, Julie is developing new music and film projects, continuing her lifelong passion for performance and creativity.
