Joy Luther

Born in Northern Ireland into a family of musicians, poets and “men of the cloth,” Joy grew up steeped in the oral tradition. Music told stories, words had meaning and emotion, and belief systems were communicated with passion. After immigrating to Texas, with her family when she was 16, she taught herself to play the guitar, using music to help her find her way in a new culture. She went on to become a Clinical Social Worker in the field of psychotherapy and, in 2003, she began to write her own music. Joy’s songs are the assimilation of this unique blend of cultures, influences, and the career path she chose. Be prepared to be both entertained and moved.
