John Beezy AKA John Jones, Born in Midwest City/Spencer and still a native resident.
I showed vocal talent as a young boy.
I started getting serious about my music in 2006, deciding to separate myself from T.N.P becoming John Beezy, Individual artist.
The only problem was, I needed a studio that was top quality for low price. Hard to find locally, a childhood classmate saw my passion and donated my first studio set up. A microphone, a laptop, and pre-installed recording software. In my 1 bedroom apartment, in my walk in closet, magic and music started and eventually consumed my life.
Every spare moment was spent Recording other local artists, myself, learning the art of engineering and producing quality sound music. I taught myself to be the man behind the music while developing myself as an artist.
Several years independent and growing in trial and error, education, research and industry advice I was creating my own buzz. Building my brand virally got me noticed by local venues that allowed me to really develop myself as a serious artist and producer. And had a street team of all-females (#BlokGyrlz formerly known as the HD GYRLZ) that helped build my brand with me!
Before a live performance I reunited with a childhood friend and fellow artist, Erick “Kane” Hightower. We joined forces that night and the vision of putting Oklahoma’s talent, specifically OUR #Blok (12th street) on the map began. Together we formed a group, Blok Boyz Ent. consisting of myself, Kane and later recruiting former T.N.P artists also independent in 2012 Reggie “Castro” Lee.
Joining 3 fan bases and crazy versatile talent, we blew up as a group around our state. Performing at any and every gig we could book, winning talent cash/award competitions, known as the group to show up and show out… and have an entourage of fans/supporters to match!
We shined our vision in any talent we saw and unity began to flood the scene. Oklahoma's Street Music Awards 2012 "Best Group" award gave us pride in our music, city and most of all our FANS! The city was buzzing with OUR name. But we wanted more. Instead of competing in a state that has no platform for hip hop recognition, we started a movement of successful, talented individuals coming together, pursuing their own brand but supporting and promoting OURs as an Oklahoma hip hop movement. A family friend & entrepreneur noticed our grind and offered to financially invest in us, creating the local independent record label, Bloknation Records. Seeking only the most talented independent artists and hip hop groups to our roster, we became the most known label in OKC & surrounding areas
2013-2015. Everyone involved brought a unique talent to the table so of course, BlokNation Records, expanded. Our brand owned a recording studio, all female-multicultural marketing/ promotion sister business The #BlokGyrlz, 7000sqft BlokNation Studio &Event center, BNR studios, an after hour private event venue space,BNR Clothing line, T-shirt screen printing manufacturer, private Cleet certified armed security details, Fresh Off the #Blok promotions, Fantastic Detail auto body shop, custom hat design, even a thrift shop and boutique/urban wear outlet... along with many more entrepreneurs stemming from this movement.
We gave back to our #Blok with benefit concerts, Turkey giveaways, Christmas Toy drives, Natural disaster relief donations, offered "TEENNIGHT TALENT SHOWCASES" showing troubled local youth how to sell merch & music talent, instead of drugs and gang violence. We hosted "cash prize Rap Battles" live-streamed from our studio open to unsigned artist, special holiday events, male & female exotic shows and brought many big name artists to perform in Oklahoma live.
We have opened up for major artists just to name a few Kevin Gates, Three-Six mafia,
Lil Boosie, YG, Twista, Lil Webbie, Party Boyz, GS Boyz, Young Jeezy, E-40,Kirko Bangs, Super Jay, Lil Flip, Black Ink ATL, Genuiwine etc..
Headlining OUR #Bloks artists on a “Welcome 2 #Bloknation” 22 city tour around the entire Midwest and Atlanta. We have airplay in OKC 103.5, 102.7 and on several different internet radio stations like "The Beat" "Spotlight radio" "106.3mobi" “Next2Rise.com, 2hotradio.com etc.
We have performed over 250 live shows all over the Midwest region. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Atlanta and still counting.
Oklahoma promo teams collaborate annually on underground music industry greats "VIRAL VOTES" for "Street Music awards" not naming 20 + awards voted humbly received by all label mates and myself, some of the most memorable was the clean sweep in 2013- 2015 "Man Behind the Music" "Label of the Year" "Most known Label" "Album of the Year" "Single of the Year" "Group of the Year" "Best Video" "Best Dressed" "Best Performance" "Artist of the Year" & "Mixtape of the Year"
We all come from different walks and struggles of life and in the past 3 years we have lost some of most talented and key players to the good dying young, gang violence, incarceration and addiction. Being the creator of the movement myself, I have a story to tell thru music. The world witnessed "THE FALL OF A NATION" 2020 you witnesses "The Rise of KINGZ"
