Joey B. Banks is a music entrepreneur, 2010 and 2011 Grammy nominated drummer, and the 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020 Madison Area Music Association Drummer/Percussionist of the Year.
Joey B specializes music performance and education of drum kit and percussion instruments, marching/percussive arts, music production, artist development, and artist/band bookings for JBENT Productions.
Joey B. started playing professionally at 16 years old and has performed and recorded drums with more than 200 artists and performance groups locally, regionally, and nationally over a 30 year period and has been recorded on over 50 album projects over the last decade.

Joey Bs mentor and friend was the "original funky drummer", Clyde Stubblefield. Joey B. frequently sat in with Clyde and the band and was his substitute drummer at his weekly Funky Monday show from 2000-2017. Over the last three years prior to Clyde Stubblefield's death on February 18, 2017, Joey B. Banks was the musical director for the Clyde Stubblefield All Stars which is an all star tribute to the late great funky drummer.
These days you can see Joey B. performing with some of the Midwests top bands and artist which include, The Funkee JBeez, The JB3s, Honor Among Thieves, Steely Dane, Gabe Burdulis Band, and Up From The Skies-The Music of Jimi Hendrix.
Joey B is a huge advocate for youth in performing arts. He currently teaches privately to 20 drum students, and directs the award winning youth ensemble Black Star Drum Line. He is on the the advisory board for Overture center's Arts Education Round table, a resident artist for the Madison Jazz Consortium and professional teaching artist for the Madison Metro School District and has done residencies, workshops and clinics in many local elementary, middle school and high schools in the Madison school district.
