The Jim Ferris Trio relocated to Wilmington, NC in 2018, after being a fixture on the Raleigh jazz scene since 2008, playing throughout the region. They have reached #1 on the Raleigh ReverbNation Jazz Charts every year since 2015 (and still there in 2026), receiving outstanding recognition and accolades from jazz lovers of all types & ages.
Since moving to Wilmington they have performed for Jazz at the CAM, the Bellamy Mansion Jazz Series , the Brunswick Beer & Cider Jazz Festival, Tails, Bourgie Nights Jazz Night, Tempo 33 and many other venues throughout the area. (see Calendar for current schedule). The Jim Ferris Quartet will be the opening act for the 2027 NC Jazz Festival.
The vidoes were recorded at C GRACE in Raleigh, NC and at various locations in Wilmington, NC. Audio tracks from the Trio were recorded LIVE in 2012. The Jim Ferris Quartet tracks features Jim Ferris (Sax, Flute), Barry Tee (Keybards), Jim Carroll (Bass), Dave Cohen or Kristen Shiner (Drums). Those tracks were all recorded LIVE during a few gigs at various venues in the Rochester NY area from 1990-1995.
