About the Artist

Influenced by the rock & roll and country music of the 1960's and the "British Invasion", I've tried to create my own style of writing songs with "something to say." I've been performing as a solo artist throughout the United States, showcasing my music, since 2003. Prior to my current career as a singer/songwriter, I was a police officer in Southern California, retiring in 2003. It was during the time that I was an officer that I started writing songs and performing in bands. I also pitched my songs to publishers, getting single song contracts for Norma Jean Biker, Walking, and Movin' On. My song, Sweet Music, made the compilation CD project "Raw Cuts" on Rodell Records (RR-34149-1) in 1993...........("Combining the twang of traditional country with smooth pop rock and crooning vocals, Jim is a master of creating swaying adult rock"....Adam Rodell) My last band in California: Meritage, produced two CD's: Reaching for the Sky and Quiet Storm. We played throughout the Ventura, California area, even opening for original Byrd's bassist, Chris Hillman. As a solo artist, I've put out three CD projects: Sweet Music in 2004, Another direction in 2008 and Songs With Something To Say in 2015.
