Jerry Glidewell’s songwriting success has continued to build over the past few years. Along with co-writer Chad Roland, several of his songs have been released as singles, including “Ride This Road” and “Heart Condition.” Both songs went # 1 on the HotDisc UK/Irish chart for the band Hurricane Highway. “Ride This Road” remained at the top of the chart for 8 weeks. The Irish band also recorded Glidewell songs “Spin Dizzy” and “Country Crazy.”
Jeremy Studdard recorded two of his songs “Your Heart of Mine” and “Lay Back.” “Your Heart or Mine” charted as a single on Texas Radio music charts. Danish CMA award winner Mark Blomsteel recorded “Steve McQueen” and country music vocal icon and Grand Ole Opry performer T. Graham Brown recorded the Glidewell/Roland gospel song called “Man of Galilee.”
In 2020, Glidewell’s song “Greener Grass” moved up the Texas Radio charts with the late Taylor Dee. The single was on her debut album Take a Shot On Me. Glidewell landed seven songs on the album. In 2019, Mark Blomsteel released “Contagious” (Glidewell/Roland) as a single to country radio. Long-time Nashville band The Mighty Trainwrecks cut the Glidewell/Roland’s song “Grenadine.” CCM duo Midwest Meets Manhattan cut two of Glidewell’s songs.
In December 2018, the “Gift of Christmas” (Glidewell/Brysson/DeRock) was part of the CCM group Temple Veil’s Christmas album. The song was previously released as a single in 2016. Glidewell co-wrote “Home Run” which was recorded by MacKenzie Morgan for the Chicago White Sox. His song “Be Still” was recorded by the Christian group CO3 and aired on the Oxygen Network. Over the years Glidewell has had songs recorded by, Lauren Mascitti, Amy Assister, Crawford & James, Andrew Sevener, Kristi Warner, Backroad Anthem, bluegrass artist Amanda Cook and gospel artist Cindy Hughlett.
Glidewell is a former keyboard player for Carrie Underwood, who performed a couple of his songs during her pre-idol days with the band 71 South. As a jingle writer, he’s written for banks, car dealerships, the United Way, Old Fort Days Rodeo, etc. Glidewell played baseball at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. He is a graduate from the University of the Ozarks, where he was recently an Alumni Achievement Award recipient.
Represented by veteran LA publisher Rex Benson, Glidewell continues write for various projects markets, including country, pop, Christian/gospel, folk, holiday and rock.
