Sometime in the year of 2002, the Instrumental Praise concept was birthed as a desire of the Pastor wanting to hear a saxophone solo each Sunday in a worship segment other than the offering. The worship guide was modified to include a worship segment that preceded the preached word with an instrumental selection by Saxophonist James Johnson. The Washington D.C baptist church was known for being innovative in their worship service experience and eventually voted to have a female senior pastor, Rev. Sarah Britt, something beautiful and rare for a baptist church at the time.
James continues to use his gift each Sunday at his church and any church that will allow him to praise God on his instrument each and every Sunday. If you would like for James to come to your church to provide an instrument praise moment or to be a guest artist in a program please do not hesitate to send a request via the email link.
All praises to the King of Kings, Lord of Lords for the awesome and blessed gift of music.
