And being totally fine with being good, old-fashioned, dumb rock and roll. Examples? Van Halen. Sabbath. AC/DC. Maiden. The Stones. Clutch. The Sword. I could go on. Into the Coven has all these things going on in their self-titled EP. Complexity? They don’t give a shit. The songs are straight ahead and without ornamentation. Like a god damned Chevy pickup truck. 1987? These motherfuckers ARE un-ironically 1987. Tenacious, “dumb” rock and roll? Hell yes, in spades.
