Join us for the 2013 annual auction at Arctic Valley, benefiting the Anchorage Ski Club and CODE BROWN. When: October 5, 2013, doors open at 5pm Where: The Alpenglow Lodge at Arctic Valley Purchase your tickets tickets online Each year Anchorage Ski Club holds an auction to raise funds to operate the Arctic Valley Ski Area and Alpenglow Lodge. With a theme of "Code Brown!," proceeds from this auction will be used to update, replace, and repair the current plumbing and septic system at The Alpenglow ski lodge at Arctic Valley. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000. Held at the beautiful Alpenglow Lodge at Arctic Valley, the auction starts at 5pm with a silent auction where you can bid on latest in outdoor equipment, gift cards to local merchants, tours, and crafts while enjoying wine, beer (Broken Tooth), and assorted beverages, live music, and appetizers. There are three sections of the silent auction, but you want to arrive on-time so you don’t miss out on the first sessions. Following the silent auction, you will descend to the first floor to a delicious buffet dinner* (Pepperocini’s). After everyone is settled in, a live auction will begin with items including, railroad tours, cruises, outdoor equipment, ski passes, vacations, and fishing trips. This is also your chance to get “special” Arctic Valley items, such as Mug Club mugs #1 and #2 and custom-made Arctic Valley Skis (Chugach Snow Tools). Following dinner we will break for our much-anticipated Dessert Auction. Each table at the dinner pools together, bidding to be first to select deserts that are donated by local businesses or made by our members. *Gluten-free and vegetarian selections available. Their musical lineup may suggest loyalty to the sounds of Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers, but Soden says Hot Dish has other things in mind. "We have a bluegrass lineup, and we definitely play traditional bluegrass at times," he says. "But most of us didn't grow up with bluegrass. We grew up with rock and the Grateful Dead, and a bunch of other stuff."”
