About the Artist

“Laugh Innit” Horce Divorse is a punk rock band composed of four long-time mates who share a passion for music. Hailing from a small town in Devon, their music is heavily influenced by the colourful characters and struggles within it, as well as their own experiences. It all started as a joke and an escape from boredom before growing into a band selling out venues and gaining a fast-growing following. Their tight-knit chemistry and shared love of music make for an unforgettable live experience. FULL BIO Horce Divorse formed in February 2019 after being asked to support upcoming artists Saint Agnes and Hypophora at Tavistock Wharf. They mentioned they had a band when, in reality, they didn't. The band was brought together within a few days after calling in some favours, with their first band practice taking place only a few hours before the show. The group had to adapt to the circumstances, properly learning their own songs for the first time on the very day of the performance. They performed an original set of punk rock songs, leaving the crowd shocked but wanting more and creating a bewildered yet euphoric atmosphere that earned outstanding praise after the show. It was a performance that has never been forgotten by the locals. Gerry Wood (Professional Music Photographer): "They only formed that day, and performed that evening! Wrote their own songs. I liked their energy and obvious passion." https://saveig.org/p/BvPsgFBHwyz/ Later that year, after writing more senseless music and building up a large catalogue of song ideas, they decided to take things further and officially form the band. Just before Christmas they were made an offer they couldn't refuse—studio time with Rob Austin from Land Of The Giants at Cube Recording Studio in Cornwall, working in the same studio that has hosted artists including All Saints, Sugababes and Tom Meighan of Kasabian. The self-titled EP Horce Divorse was recorded and mixed over three days, with five songs completed before being sent for mastering by Steve Kitch, who has previously worked with Opeth and Scouting For Girls. The EP was released on 10 April 2020 across all streaming platforms. During 2020 the band naturally drifted due to the restrictions of the COVID pandemic, remaining largely inactive until 2023. With a renewed sense of purpose, they decided to give it another shot—to disrupt the norm and provide a voice for those who feel marginalised or unheard. In April 2023, Horce Divorse played their first headline show at Stannary Brewery in Tavistock, quickly building a loyal following, securing invitations to larger venues and selling out multiple events. Their journey has since seen them win Battle of the Bands at the Royal Cornwall Biker Festival 2024 and again at Bideford Palladium in 2025, alongside appearances at festivals, pubs, folk festivals (including stripped-back acoustic performances), music venues and even some unusual locations, including the backs of steam engines and libraries. They have headlined Tavistock Wharf on three occasions, with engineers at the venue telling the band: "One day you'll be too big to play here." They have also independently sold out shows at King's Tavistock and The Stannary, creating nights where multiple generations came together to celebrate live music. Along the way, Horce Divorse have worked alongside genuine punk rock icons, collaborating twice with T.V. Smith of The Adverts, with plans to perform Gary Gilmore's Eyes together in the future. They have also shared stages with members of Culture Shock, Subhumans and Cult Maniax, continuing to build strong relationships within the punk community. In March and April 2026 the band returned to Cube Recording Studios to record their debut album, New to the Bin, recording ten songs in just six days. During the sessions one of the studio engineers described Horce Divorse as: "The easiest and most fun band we've ever had in here." Later adding that it was probably the most enjoyable record they had ever mixed. The album launch show at Tavistock Wharf proved another huge success, drawing a packed audience and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback. The band sold over 100 albums within the first three weeks, with sales continuing to grow. T.V. Smith summed it up simply: "Love the album, it catches how you perform live and with the humour." Horce Divorse combine sharp-witted original songs with crowd-pleasing covers to create a memorable live show. Their reputation continues to grow, earning praise wherever they perform. Punk legends Cult Maniax said: "We've seen a lot of bands since the '70s, and you are a cut above the rest. We'll be working with you again."
