Hinterland Daybreakers

The Hinterland Daybreakers are an energetic and entertaining band performing original and classic tunes with their own unique style of hinterland rock, blending blues, zydeco, soul, rock and roll. This quirky mob is passionate about the planet, its people, flora, fauna, which resonates in their feel-good music, and is guaranteed to animate audiences up on to the dance floor. Leading the band is pianist Tom Nealson, who has played a legendary role in the Queensland blues scene for many decades, from the iconic days of the Story Bridge Hotel ‘Bomb Shelter’ blues nights, BASEQ Blues Inc. headquarters, the Royal Mail Hotel Goodna, Vogue:House of Blues in Nambour, to the more recent shows at Sunshine Coast Blues Club. Tom’s experience and passion for roots music is the driving force behind this band of un-usual suspects! • Tom Nealson - piano, accordian, vocals • Syb Maclure - violin, vocals • Russell (Rusty) Gibbard bass • Rob Kann - vocals, tambourine • Jim Budd - mandolin, slide guitar • Andreas Kuhn - cajon, clap sticks, tambourine • Jonathon Lloyd – drums The Hinterland Daybreakers acknowledges our music is created, performed and received on what Was; Is; and will Always Be Kabi Kabi/Jinibara Country.
