Harmony Grits have been playing their own blend of bluegrass, folk and alt-acoustic music since 1985. Based in Santa Cruz, CA, the band has been frequently featured on the main stages of California's flagship High Sierra and Strawberry Music Festivals and has long enjoyed cult status for their spiritual-medicinal underground hit, "Gospel Bong". For decades, the Grits have chartered a steady course through American roots music, drawing heavily on the legacy of renegade heroes like Woody Guthrie, Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash and the Grateful Dead, and contributing to the Folk process with their own lively originals and their own rambunctious take on traditional music.
