“If you haven't seen Gypsy Stew yet you are missing out on one of the most unique musical acts in Ventura County. The "Stew" perform a mix of original music and creatively arranged covers that evolve with each show. Gayle Walker's percussion set is nothing like you've ever seen before complete with coffee cans, nuts sewn on pie pans all centered around an African djembe. You have to see it to get the full effect. Gypsy Stew picks songs with a nostalgic factor and presents them authentically in stripped down arrangements. Most are outlaw country (think Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams I, II & III) and country rock spanning the past 50 years. Couple that with an engaging stage show and you end up with an enthusiastic audience having a ton of fun. Go see Gypsy Stew.”

Q: Don, do you remember anyone named Cheanne and her mom Sigh?

A: Yes I surely do. Jeanne Foster was one of my best friends in high school. Her house was a local hangout with Sigh as the resident dry humor sarcastic wit. Good times. She had a sister Jerry.
