“The Swedish Viking Metal band GRIMNER have certainly given me a real surprise. Their demo “A Call For Battle” is without doubt one of the best demos I have ever heard. It feels a bit like discovering a debuting THYRFING. That band’s early era also seems to be the most important musical influence for this young Swedish band. From the beginning of this record, I am impressed. The intro is fairly memorable and then four strong songs follow. All are complete with interesting guitar-work, competently placed keyboard melodies, growling and some clean vocals.”
