“Saying ‘Yo Man’ to political revolution By Our Reporter SHILLONG: Going by the trends among today's youth, songs are a catharsis for the soul. Unable to vent out their frustrations, youth take to singing as a release. Two young men did just that at the solidarity meeting on the Jan Lok Pal Bill organised by the Meghalaya Right to Information Movement (MRTIM) activists and co-hosted by several other organisations. The a capella performance was by two youths Ratul Hajong alias Grey Jaw Ripper and Andrew Lyndem otherwise known as Prophet of Esoterical Metaphors (POEM). The two belted out in typical African-American style lyrics that spoke of political revolution and which took a dig at politicians... If theybreak the law on us, we break it back on them. The lyrics also referred to Uranium from Domiasiat injected in my arms…, and everything's an illusion…they keeping us in a lie... The two singers vibed very well with the young crowd at the venue.”
