Q: How did you come up with your sound? Was there an artist that inspired you?

A: Hi, and thanks for the question! My grandfather was a smoking jazz player and although he wanted me to become an opera singer, :)) he exposed me to many different genres of music at an early age. I gravitated towards artists who just truly moved me with their passion and pure, and sometimes raw talent. Some of my favs were: Koko Taylor, Billie Holiday, Tina Turner, Joan Osborne, Hendrix, Stevie R., Grace Slick, Aretha, CSN, and Young and so many more. I never tried to be them, just develop my own style and remain true to myself (even though I realize my music is far from mainstream most of the time). Thanks again, and keep creating great music!
