Fresh Catch / Press

“Fresh Catch blasted through their set with barely a breath between each song. Introducing an island feel, Fresh Catch threw out commentary such as “find us at a local drinking establishment” and chanting “let’s get weird.””

“My favorite local band, Fresh Catch, will perform at this month's Musicfest at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 on the Riverwalk stage at the end of St. Lucie Avenue in downtown Stuart. They refer to their music as "heavy reggae." To me, it's a mix of old-school reggae with a not-so-subtle Sublime influence. Listen to their latest single, "Burn in the Sun," at freshcatchmusic.com. And if you like what you hear, check the band out live at Musicfest.”

“ The video made its debut this past Saturday night at The Refuge, a popular dance club in Stuart. A packed house was treated to the Burn in the Sun video, a behind the scenes video, a gag video and of course, an energy-filled performance by the band. ”

“The band, together since 2007, has released three CDs. The latest, "It's Better Here," came out in February and although the band allows listeners their own interpretation, the guys said the title refers to our backyards.”

“Overall, It’s Better Here is another solid release from one of the Treasure Coast’s favorite bands. Keep an eye out for Fresh Catch, as their sound continues to grow and evolve so will their place on the map. ”

“This tight-knit group of friends created their original sound in 2007 and since has cut two full-length albums, with a third on the way, titled "It's Better Here." They have played countless shows throughout the Treasure Coast. ”

“The local kids creating a buzz are Fresh Catch, five Stuart musicians doing reggae and alternative rock and being asked to play with national groups. Check out the high-energy style of Josh Hoilman, Nick Perry, Jose Rivera, Joe Begin and Pete Levine. They have cut two albums on their own and are working on their third. ”

““I’ve been following the band for a while now and what makes them unique is their fans, as well as the way they govern themselves,” said Butch Olsen, 59, chairman of the fourth annual Port Salerno Seafood Festival and general manager of The Coconut Bar. “They have played at The Coconut Bar multiple times and ... everyone just comes to have a good time.” ”
