The South Florida Folk Festival, presented by the Broward Folk Club, is a 2-day Festival in a pristine park setting, Since its inception in 1992, the Festival has been a combination of a music fest, family reunion, community gathering, and weekend musical retreat. Last year's event in Hugh Taylor Birch State Park was a huge success, and we are thrilled to bring the Festival back again for 2016.
This month we will be joined by our very own Jordan Cherkinsky and his writing/singing partner Frank Julian. Jordan and Frank have spent most of the past year writing an albums worth of great songs that were recently recorded by Brian Tobin in a doublewide trailer on "The Farm". Jordan and Frank will be playing the South Florida Folk Festival this month and then will be playing the prestigious Florida Folk Festival in May. Julian/Cherkinsy will perform their set in the middle of the open mic. This courtroom spoof features the talents of Eddie Wayne as Perry Stone Mason, Frank Julian as Hamilton "the Big Cheese" Burger, Gail Carson as Lieutenant Carson Gaily, Curtis Wayne Schaper as the Bailiff, and others. Followed by a Special Concert by Charley Groth.
