About the Artist

Washington D.C. Area Female-Fronted Doom Metal Visionaries Deliver Their Most Ambitious and Theatrical Release Yet.

Blending melodic doom metal, psychedelic atmospheres, classical influences, and progressive rock sensibilities, Flight of Odin has carved out a sound that defies easy categorization. The quartet's latest offering takes listeners on a journey through shadowed corridors of emotion, myth, introspection, and transcendence, showcasing a band that continues to evolve while remaining true to its distinctive artistic vision.

Founded in 2015 by vocalist and songwriter Xyra, bassist/keyboardist and executive producer Andrew Cann, drummer Kenny Finger, and guitarist Mike Karagiannis, Flight of Odin has steadily built an impressive catalog that includes The Only Door, Goddess in Smoke, Tattered Cloaks of Madness, Seance of Hecate, and now their most ambitious release yet, I Traveled the Crooked Path.

Among the album's highlights are the instrumental compositions "Andromeda," penned by Tyler Beddow, and "Obsidian Cove," composed by Andrew Cann. These atmospheric pieces further demonstrate the band's commitment to musical exploration beyond conventional genre boundaries.

At the heart of the album stands the commanding presence of Xyra, whose four-octave vocal range and evocative storytelling guide listeners through richly imagined lyrical landscapes. Supported by Finger's dynamic percussion, Cann's melodic bass work and classical piano flourishes, and Beddow's soaring guitar performances, the album creates an immersive experience that is both emotionally resonant and sonically adventurous.
