From the streets and tapas bars of Spain and bustling Japanese live music venues, to Australian festivals, malls, bars, hotels and restaurants, Felicity Lawless has delighted many diverse audiences with her journey through sound and emotion. Fusing world music and gypsy elements with folk and rock, her sound is characterised by a flashy, Spanish guitar style, soaring vocal melodies and hypnotic rhythms. She performs with an energy that elevates and inspires while infusing her crowds with enthusiasm and joy. Her band is comprised of amazing guitar and sound wizard Scott French (Cheap Fakes, The Lamplights, A French Butler Called Smith) and master of percussion Brennan Smith (A French Butler Called Smith) and bass groover Alex Elfes (Andrea Soler). In the one year since their birth, they have played all the major Gold Coast Festivals and filled the house at The Soundlounge (Currumbin), the Solbar (Maroochydore), The Beach Hotel and Great Northern (Byron), The House with No Walls (Sunny Coast), The Dust Temple and Miami Marketta (Gold Coast) and The Joynt (Brisbane). An exhaustive list of nationwide and international shows is a testament to Felicity’s powerful live show and its ability to cross boundaries of all musical tastes. She has played Caloundra Music Festival, Island Vibe 2012 (solo), Corinbank Festival, Bleach 2014, Kirra Kite Festival 2013, Swell Sculpture Festival, Mardi Grass (6 years running), Surfers Paradise, Adelaide Fringe and Nannup festivals. She has played over 40 festivals with various bands, toured Australia multiple times and toured Japan in 2012 with Julia Rose. Felicty’s new album ‘Ouroboros’ released in October 2014, has already received Triple J airplay and has been album of the week on Rabbit Radio and 4ZZZ. ‘Rainspeak’, her 5-track EP, was released in 2013, featuring Paul George (Tijuana Cartel), Scott French and Brennan Smith (A French Butler Called Smith) and Julia Rose. It received national airplay and was album of the week on Rabbit Radio.
