Hi l'm Aimee-Elisabeth .....musician/singer-songwriter/photographer. My song-writing and style has been described as ethereal melodic folk, with lyrics that strike deep into the heart. I love to create mystery and intrigue with a haunting magical feel.
Through my photography and song writting l invite you in to witness the beauty and complexity of life through my lens. I am diagnosed autistic and was a non verbal child who struggled to connect and interact with the world, still today l am described as an 'enigma' a puzzle a mystery.
As l got older l discovered that l could channel my inner most deepest thoughts through written word and music. 'Fragile Heart' comes from...describing the fragility of the human spirit.....when l wondered if it were possible to die of a broken heart when diagnosed with a heart condition.
'Sitting on the edge of heaven' is about a ten year old non verbal child trying to understand death and the loss of a parent when my dad died, being spoken about rather than to.
'Calling You' was written while l was staying at a beautiful retreat house in England. It describes a pure loneliness, brokenness calling out to God...my faith is a strong part of who l am. l beleive we can all be used as vessels to reach one another through the language of music and spoken word.
if l could change one thing about autism, it would be the loneliness that autistic people face daily. The frustration of the struggle to fit and connect with the world.
My parents emigrated to Australia when l was small so this was traumatic too... 'I will hold Your Heart' was written from childhood dreams living in the outback of Australia with my Aboriginal friends and the magic l encountered.
