"Local favorites Face Dancer took the stage at McAvoys last week and rocked it out as only they know how. Performing some of their classics and songs off their new release Brave New Faces, the band, who have been performing live regularly now for the past year, are still one of the best live acts out there playing the Baltimore circuit. [...] Guitarist David Utter...is back and better than ever. Playing in front of a full house, the band, lead singer John West, guitarists Jeff Adams, Charlie Thomas, and Utter, bassist PJ Lee, and drummer Phil Brotman, who is filling in for original drummer Billy Trainor, started the evening off with “Time Bomb” before playing selections “Mr.Shakedown,” “15 Minutes,” and more from the new album. As always, the fan favorite and smash hit “Red Shoes” ended the evening, and their incredible live set."

"One of the most welcome slices of news in early 2017 was the announcement that Face Dancer had not only regrouped with an expanded line-up, but they were also preparing for the imminent release of a brand new album." "Without doubt, of the handful of bands that are GDM favourites over the years, Face Dancer are right up there. It's great to see them back in action with this new album and a renewed presence. The eight songs presented here are quite varied, and will give listeners and FD fans a run for their money that's for sure. There's a lot of FD material which exists at this site, so have a dig around, and also support the band throughout their social media network."

“The wait is over. Face Dancer has finally released a new album called Brave New Faces and simply put, it rocks. [...] ...the fourth album starts off with “Words,” a melodic slow rocker you will love. “Smashbox Symphony,” a song written years ago, but reworked for the album, showcases West’s vocals. It’s very upbeat and my personal favorite on the album. Jeff Adams shines on “Straight to the Top,” with great hooks and is also very upbeat. I could tell Face Dancer had a lot of fun recording this album and I can’t stop listening to it. Seeing this band perform the songs live makes me enjoy them even more. Please go to their webpage, facedancer.com, and order this album. It is without a doubt, a breath of fresh air.”

“Love Face Dancer, always have.”

“Lead singer John West fits this new version of Face Dancer like a glove with a great stage presence and powerful vocals. [...] I could see the fire was still there in their playing. “Smashbox Symphony,” a new/old song got the crowd into it. It was just one of many new songs the 2016 version of Face Dancer played, which was a long overdue breath of fresh air, but everyone there knew what they wanted to hear. You had to pay your dues and listen to all the great new songs they played before they broke out the classics. “Time Bomb” and “Cry Baby” pretty much brought the club down and made me feel twenty something again. Then, without further ado, West promoted their biggest hit, “Red Shoes” to the crowd and the playing commenced. What a blast from the past. I had not heard this song live in over two decades and here it was. Adams’ meticulous guitar playing was just what I needed during this song and it was so great to hear this lost classic played live again.”
