About Euzôtes -
Euzôtes is a genre-defying trio that has been crafting evocative, boundary-pushing music since 2009. The band was born when bassist Ron Ersek joined longtime friends and collaborators Steve Blackburn (guitar) and Yves Beaumier (drums). Their chemistry was immediate, and after nearly a decade of creative synergy, they released their debut album, Film Noir.
Debut Album: Film Noir -
Released after nine years of collaboration, Film Noir is a 19-track double CD that showcases the band’s evolution. The album blends early compositions written before Ron’s arrival with newer material co-written by him, offering a rich tapestry of sound that reflects Euzôtes’ musical journey. The album defies easy categorization, weaving elements of alterno-progressive rock with jazz-inspired textures, and stands as a testament to the band’s versatility and artistic depth.
What’s Next -
Euzôtes has performed extensively, including appearances on local television, and is now gearing up to release their highly anticipated second album—while already deep into the creative process for their third. At its core, the band remains a tight-knit trio, but each album welcomes guest musicians and collaborators, reflecting their commitment to musical exploration and community.
Musical Roots & History -
All three members of Euzôtes are self-taught musicians with rich and varied backgrounds:
Steve Blackburn and Ron Ersek played in high school big bands, laying the foundation for their musical journeys.
Yves Beaumier began drumming at age 14 and has played in bands such as Thorn and Sold Out.
Ron received formal musical training for three years and has performed with groups including The Velvet Dogs, The End, and Amethyst.
In 1985, Yves and Steve collaborated on Masterpiece, a progressive rock project that ended tragically with the loss of their guitarist.
By the time Ron joined the duo, Steve and Yves had already been playing together on and off for two decades. Since forming Euzôtes, the trio has spent the last 16 years refining their sound, driven by a shared passion and a desire to connect with listeners.
Philosophy -
Euzôtes is more than a band—it’s a musical collective that thrives on collaboration and connection. They believe in sharing their music not only with fellow artists but with every listener who finds resonance in their sound.
