Eric Sharp / Press

“Los Angeles producer Eric Sharp has a new EP, the aptly titled Sharp Cuts, that comes out on September 3 via freshly minted NYC label Win Music. "Time Drips" is a lowkey cut from that EP, with plaintative vocals and lyrics from Australian DJ Anna Lunoe that fit the track's framework very nicely.”

“Have you been craving a truly unique electronic sound? Then you may want to take a listen to Eric Sharp”

Earmilk

“Sharp's musical approach is certainly worthy of praise. "Help Me" is all breathy textures and swinging offbeats, the steely precision of minimal house mixed with the deeper sound of Detroit. The DAMB remix veers closer to minimalism; while it retains the original's sense of swing, the rhythm is tougher and the percussion more insistent. Sharp follows DAMB's example on "Organized Confusion"; there, tough drums and tonal shifts usher in a harder, less musical sound. It's a similar story on "Avusadora", featuring Bass Cadet, which focuses on a jacking rhythm and a repetitive vocal sample.”

“From NASA's trippy Hubble Telescope projections to the beats of psychedelic electronic artist, RIOUX, our first ever HuffPost Weird News party at SXSW transported festival-goers to another world...Eric Sharp pumped a killer DJ set.”

“DJ and producer extraordinaire”

“With a lively and energetic take on electro and house that explores the spectrum of dreamy to dark, melodic to explosive, Eric Sharp has a definite grip on how to make people dance.”

"A bedrock of Bay Area Dance Music

"Taking in an invitation by Eric Sharp, of Rock It Science Laboratories, as he rocked The Domes by Heineken, we were treated to a quick glimpse in party-rocking as he brought the Domes to a heightened state of euphoric frenzy.

"Tropical sounding house scorcher 'Hope Springs Eternal' draws you in with an infectious beat and an equally infectious vocal sample."

“Originally born in Boston, Eric Sharp has made a name for himself in San Francisco as a premier DJ and promoter, as well as a solid music businessman. As a versatile DJ, Eric built a following spinning anything from House & Electro to Techno & Dubstep or Breaks and Minimal (depending on the gig and the crowd). But his latest music is severely focused. Rock It Science events, first started out doing warehouse parties, became too big and lead to the creation of Rock It Science Laboratories, his own label. Recently released to much hype in the Bay area, his Thundercats EP had much success, earlier this year appearing as the opening track in a Tommie Sunshine mix, as well as an XLR8R podcast and blogged over the interwebs.”

“A founding father of the famous Rock It Science Laboratories, DJ Eric Sharp is a name spoken often in the Bay Area DJ scene. Spending years perfecting the art of dance music and contributing so much to the San Francisco dance music community, it’s no wonder he has such a loyal following. Whether it is fueling the fire in our dance shoes or putting on the latest underground party, the hustle and bustle of his daily life shines through when one experiences his latest event or music.”

“You've seen the name DJ Eric Sharp on fliers from SOMA to the Haight. Whether you're a 9-5'er in the Financial District or an underground party raver, you've also probably heard the guy at some point during your weekend dancing career. Because he doesn't conform to a particular sound, Sharp has played alongside characters such as DJ Ayres and Afrika Bambaataa. But Sharp's also known for Rock It Science, which started as an event production company in 2005 and grew into a label last year.”
