Eric Ethridge / Press

“Eric Ethridge followed the Barker boys, and in a leather jacket that many of the women in the crowd wish he would have just taken off, provided another level of excitement as Tuesday night wore on. A huge 7 man band took over the stage and filled The Phoenix with sound, and they did it with a ton of energy. Nobody stood still, nobody took a song off, and nobody in the crowd was disappointed. Eric had people dancing and singing and grooving with a set that included Stay A Little Longer, Between Me & You, and The South – and if given the chance we know he would have stayed up there longer and given more. Next time… we’re sure of it.”

“Eric Ethridge was next to hit the stage and for those of you who aren’t 100% sure who Eric Ethridge is. It is in my opinion that Mr. Ethridge is the best unsigned Canadian male artist. Eric came runner up to the very talented James Barker last summer at boots but it seems that Eric hit his stride with some absolutely AMAZING YouTube videos with covers of Andy Grammer’s “Honey I’m Good” and his most recent and I personally think his best yet cover of Charles Kelley’s “Leaving Nashville” a song written by Donovan Woods who is also from Southern Ontario so just seemed like a perfect song. Eric and the boys tore up the floorboards on that stage at one point I was a bit concerned that Megan or Blackjack may not have a whole lot left to pay on. Ok, it wasn’t that crazy but seriously this band is Tight and knows how to impress a crowd. If you get a chance to catch Eric at a festival this summer (Sound of Music Festival – Burlington as well as Trackside in London to”

“Southern Ontario’s Eric Ethridge still doesn’t have a record deal and I am just not sure why. After watching his recent YouTube Video covering Leaving Nashville a song that Charles Kelley had just released and is written by one hell of a song writer and Canadian to boot, Donovan Woods.”

“Etheridge and his clan of talented musicians opened up the hometown show with nothing less than a spectacular performance. This was the first time I have seen Eric perform and I couldn’t figure out who to keep my eye on while they were on the stage. From Eric’s powerful vocals and work on the guitar to his fiddle player who is like a reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix with his visual display of fiddle playing. Eric and his boys got the crowd fired up with a solid 45-minute set of mainly originals and some classic country favourites. This guy and his band are a group we have to keep our eyes on in 2016. I think big things are about happen for them!”

“London region country stars Eric Ethridge and Stacey Zegers will be going for gold at the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Discovery Showcase in London on Sept. 8. Sarnia-raised, London-tied Ethridge were among six finalists named Tuesday in the 2016 CCMA Discovery Program. The winner is decided after a Sept. 8 showcase at a London venue as part of the CCMA’s Country Music Week 2016 in London on Sept. 8-11. Ethridge and Zegers celebrated with their fans on social media. “BIG NEWS ! I was fortunate enough to be selected by the @ccmaofficial for their 2016 (showcase),” Ethridge said on Twitter.com. Ethridge also tweeted about having just been announced as one of the local acts playing the July 1-2 Trackside festival at the Western Fair District’s outdoor concert venue. Now, he’s in the kind of showcase event where he has plenty of experience. Ethridge was a runner-up in both the Boots and Hearts and Music in the Fields Emerging Artists ShowcasesBack in the 2000s E”

“Eric Ethridge wanted the perfect song for his latest video. “I wanted it to be something special — and a little bit different than anything I’ve done,” said the 27-year-old rising country music star from Sarnia. “I stumbled across this video by Charles Kelley (of Lady Antebellum fame), and the song was stuck in my head for two weeks. I showed it to a couple of bandmates and they said, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’” The tune, “Leaving Nashville,” also just happened to be written by fellow Sarnia native Donovan Woods. “I had heard of Donovan and his work, and his name keeps coming up,” Ethridge said of the singer-songwriter whose songs have been recorded by Tim McGraw and a slew of Canadian artists. “In my opinion, he’s on track to be one of the biggest writers in Nashville. “So it’s really cool that this song was written by someone from my hometown.” Ethridge’s cover of Leaving Nashville was officially released on YouTube last week, and he’s already ”

“Eric Ethridge this is one of those artists that you just have to see live. Eric puts on a hell of a show and just has that natural stage presence. After seeing a show you will know what I mean. He doesn’t have to work the stage as it just feels like home for this Southern Ontario native. Being a runner up in 2015 Boots and Hearts Emerging artists competition could be the best thing to happen to him. Ask Tim Hicks. Not winning opens up other avenues for the young man. I remember sitting with Andy Grammer earlier this year and him telling me he was hoping to take Honey I’m Good in a direction that is a little more Country. I turned to him and said that he MUST LISTEN to Eric Ethridges arrangement as it really was one of the best I had heard. Eric could have a breakout year in 2016 if all things align for the budding superstar.”

“If hard work, patience and humility are the keys to success, Eric Ethridge is doing all the right things.Sarnia’s rising country crooner and his bandmates have been riding high on a whirlwind year-and-a-half — and things just keep getting better. But the 26-year-old just takes it all in stride. “I’m kind of just figuring it out as I go along,” the St. Patrick’s High School grad says with a modest laugh. He’s fresh off a massively successful summer, flanked by a main stage performance in front of a 35,000-strong crowd at Boots and Hearts — the second largest country music festival in North America — and a fast-rising stardom that earned him a shout-out in Rolling Stone Magazine.Since then, Ethridge and his band — which includes Jacob Burton on drums, Dan Ainsworth on bass, fiddle player Matt Piche, Marty Oblak on banjo and lead guitarist (and big brother) Mike Ethridge — has signed on with United Talent Agency, with hopes to broaden their audience and access bigger a”

“Those solo days are over. The band has about 10 originals to share with fans. Ethridge has signed with the Agency Group. The singer is just back from LA where he worked on a single with Canadian songwriter and producer Brian Howes (Nickelback, Hedley, Simple Plan). Details of that single are TBA, but shows there are more country roads ahead for Ethridge in a summer and fall when he and the band will have played Boots and Hearts (August) and the fair (September). Ethridge was a familiar face to the fair’s talent bookers.”

“Ethridge did a great job in the Emerging Artist Showcase, finishing 2nd to the James Barker Band – but with a polished sound, tight band, and great look, we expect that they will continue to push on with their young career in country music by putting on a show at Boots & Hearts 2016”

“When Emerson Drive left the stage it was time to announce the winner of this years Emerging Artists Showcase put on by Sirius XM. The James Barker Band walked away with the title this year BUT… I have to say I believe that Eric Ethridge will be the guy that will have the stay power over time. Not that I wasn’t a fan of JBB but I just think that Eric Ethridge has the ability to make it a long career.”

“The story of Eric Ethridge’s unlikely foray into country music stardom is almost too good to be true. “It was kind of a happy accident,” said the 26-year-old Sarnia native, whose rising popularity has landed him a coveted spot at Canada’s largest country music festival, the upcoming Boots & Hearts in Oro-Medonte, Ont. But it’s no accident the former St. Patrick’s High School student is making waves with his smooth vocals and unique, country-southern-rock sound. It’s just not at all what he expected. “It’s been a pretty crazy ride,” said Ethridge, who, after high school, played four years of football at UWO while completing a degree in kinesiology. Around that time he realized athletics and academics weren’t his only strengths. “I discovered I could sing — and it wasn’t all that terrible,” he said with a modest laugh. Having picked up guitar skills from his older brother Mike, Ethridge started performing at bars around London, earning an impressive re”

“Eric had a smaller group gathered that were fist pumpin’ to some of the hottest country music on the radio today. Eric also filtered a few of his own tracks in that were really great to hear as a first time listener and hope to catch up with Eric & the band again before the end of the summer to hear more.”

“The Sarnia and London-based Eric Ethridge Band will be opening for all the main acts on a separate stage, featuring front man Eric Ethridge, Mike Ethridge (lead guitar), Matt Piche (fiddle), Marty Oblak (guitar), Dan Ainsworth (bass), Scott Wilkinson (keyboard) and Jake Burton (drums). “We couldn’t be more excited to play such a great venue and be playing to the same audience as some of today’s biggest country artists,” said Wilkinson, noting Ethridge just released a single, Crazy Tonight. “I’ve heard from many Londoners that they love to hear about local bands getting such an opportunity.””

“Opening Tuesday’s bill was the London- and Sarnia-tied Eric Ethridge Band, who had some classic rock of its own. “I used to play football at Western,” Sarnia product Eric Ethridge told the crowd to cheers. He was a Mustang defensive back in the late 2000s. “I’m finally getting the chance to play on stages like this for people like you.” The seven-piece includes London music scenester Scott Wilkinson on keyboards, the frontman’s brother Mike Ethridge on lead guitar and London fiddle ace Matt Piche. Bringing back memories of the Piche Family band of the late 20th-century and London- and Nashville-based Christian rockers Article One, Piche nimbly worked his way around the monitors at the front of the stage on one rave-up. The Eric Ethridge Band was also on this summer’s Gone Country bill. It has a new single, Crazy Tonight, and a hot way with such Southern rock classics as Sweet Home Alabama.”

"They were a solid band, a surprise really, performing with excellent musicianship, Ethridge’s songwriting equally strong, if With You and the recently released (on ITunes) Crazy Tonight are any indication of what’s to come."
